    FINALLY a SYTYCD Post

With the exception of last weeks “Bang Bang” routine (and maybe a few others, I just don’t remember) I finally feel like this week’s episode of SYTYCD is worth blogging about. It has taken them to have the Top 8 with All Stars for me to feel the need to set aside time to do this.

With that being said, I still have my qualms with the show. The new format still makes me really frustrated, and for some reason (maybe less in the promo videos before the routine) I just feel like I don’t really know the dancers as well as I did in previous seasons. I know they’re all good, but I’m not really in love with any of them like I have been. Will is the only one who I think is just absolutely wonderful, but mostly everyone else, if I like them, I like them because they’re great dancers. Anyway, I digress. Now for routines!

Witney and tWitch’s routine was good. I think she did a pretty good job with it although I can’t decide if I like it or not. I’ve watched it a few times but it’s still…just meh to me. She hits it and I was watching her instead of tWitch (that’s new), but it wasn’t one that I liked a whole bunch.

Cole and Allison - Good. Creepy as eff. I don’t even want to rewatch it because it was just scary. I really love Allison though and I think that she’s one of the best dancers to have been on SYTYCD. I’m not too happy about Cole making into the top 6 but whatever.

Eliana and Ryan - WAH! LOVED this one. I thought it was just a super cute, adorable, and finally a quickstep that was entertaining. If I had to pick one winner for this show, I think I would pick Eliana. She’s one of the only contestants to show real personality.

Will and Lauren - Okay. So I understand that may have a bit of an obsession with Will, but this routine was legitimately one of my favorites from the whole season. I love Christopher Scott’s choreography and the way that he takes non-traditional hip hop songs and makes them into hip-hop songs. I also really like the idea behind this routine and I think that Will and Lauren were both just great in this. Will obviously is out of his comfort zone, but he still hits each move with enough intensity. Also, he was able to show a serious and more mature side of him. The fact that he got kicked off this week makes me really frustrated with this new format. He’s being penalized for last weeks votes. He stepped up and listened to the judges comments and then they kick him off. Will and Lauren both did an awesome job with this routine.

Chehon and Anya - This tango was SO GOOD. Legitimately, completely mesmerizing. It was so…sexy. Goodness gracious. Loved it.

Tiffany and Ade - The reason why I’m posting this video is not necessarily because it’s one of my favorites from tonight, but because I enjoyed it. It’s very stereotypical Mandy Moore - super dramatic love story. Good, not mind blowing. Beautiful, but not super stunning. It was nice to Ade dance again though…

    Eliana - Perfection.

Chehon - Such a beautiful solo. His pirouettes were stunning. Ah. For the boys, I want him to win.

Will - I love him. I have nothing more to say. I just love him.
