I love John Green.
This video made me happy for various reasons:
1) It’s a “Thoughts From Places” video which are my absolute favorite. I love the ideas that come from going to old or new places. There’s something so thrilling and exciting about a new physical location and these videos always reaffirm those emotions.
2) This TFP video is especially wonderful due to the fact that it’s from Chicago. In the 21 years that I’ve lived outside this magnificent city, it has never failed to leave me awe-struck at it’s beauty and personality. John’s comments about The Bean especially make me really happy because regardless of how many times I’ve been downtown, I always want to go to The Bean. I feel like it’s a visual representation or your actual physicality and existence in Chicago. It places you somewhere and reassures you that you do exist.
3) There was Harry Potter. And Nerdfighters. And John Green. I would have given anything to have been at Leaky Con. Darn you, lack of funds.
4) “How strange, and how lovely, it is to be anything at all.”
